Rafi and Mecartin, the director duo who created history with super hits like Punjabi House and Tenkasi Pattanam are coming together for the first time with the maestro of comedy and natural acting, Mohanlal in Hello.

In the film Mohanlal is a lazy advocate, Shivaraman, popularly called as Shiva. Even though an advocate by profession, he spends more time to booze than to be in court. And at those times, he is a known troublemaker of the city.

One of the best friends of Shivaraman is Chandy Kunju, Sivaraman's benefactor. He is a little handicapped but he is more a law breaker and a regular client of Sivaraaman. His act of escaping with ease whenever police is behind him is a surprise everyone. He moves around in a Motor bike with a side car that comes handy to transport Sivaraman, when he gets drunk and out of control.

Parvathy is the daughter of a private moneylender, who develops an interest in the troublesome ways of the advocate. Sivaraman had taken to drinking because of a great tragedy in his life, after which he presumes that it is better to be a drunk than be normal. On a sunny day, he receives a phone call, which is all set to change his life once again. The film has a big cast including Madhu, Siddique, Jagadhish, Madhu Warrior, Keerikkadan Jose, Spadikam George, Salim Kumar, Beeman Reghu, Rizabava, Ganesh Kumar and Suraj Venjaramoodu.

The story weaves both fun and youth filled moments about the magic of Mohanlal and Jagathy again in a full fledged affair. The film is told in the usual format of Rafi -Mecarttin with plenty of humor, twists, songs and a sentimental touch. The music section is handled by Vayalar Sharath and Alex Paul.

The film which flows into two and a half hours belongs to Mohanlal, the one man entertainment troupe, who shoulders the weight of the heavy twists in the plots, all by himself. He is thoroughly adorable and endlessly endears himself with his sensitivity and comic timing and easy-going camaraderie with Jagathy Sree Kumar his friend with a limp in one leg. Adds color and vitality to the film, the performances from the entire cast is commendable. Debutante Parvathy Milton has proven that she is not just a pretty face and impress particularly with her dancing skills. Siddhique with his more than menacing looks and Suraj as an S I do their roles effectively while Risa Bawa, Shaiju Kurup, Madhu Warrier, Janardhanan and Ganeshkumar are in their usual self. Mohanlal is thoroughly adorable and endlessly endears himself with his sensitivity and comic timing. The easy-going camaraderie with Jagathy Sree Kumar his friend with a limp in one leg adds and vitality to the film. The performances from the entire cast is commendable The murder mystery is solved by the hero in a long drawn out dialogue drama in the end reminding you of similar longer sequences in 'The truth'. If it was presented in a more visually appealing and logical way of investigation, the film could have made an even more impact among the audience, but it is not a worry as Rafi-Mecartin brand of filmmaking, once again succeeds to deliver a sure hit.
